About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I hope you find the information here to be useful to you. Please note that since July of 2015, my practice has been focused solely on neonatal intensive care. I no longer have an office pediatrics practice.

Biography

California has been my home since 1984. Prior to that time, I lived in New York City, first in Brooklyn (for medical school at the State University of New York, Downstate) and then in Manhattan (for internship and residency at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Greenwich Village). I did my subspecialty training in neonatology (newborn intensive care) at UCLA. After my training, I was an attending neonatologist at UCLA, involved in teaching, providing bedside intensive care, and doing academic research. Afterward, I spent 2 years in a general pediatric practice and providing emergency room and intensive care consultation on critical cases. In 1992, I joined Kaiser Permanente, where I practiced both general pediatrics and neonatology until July of 2015. Since that time, I have practiced only neonatology.

About my practice

My practice is limited to newborn intensive care in a hospital setting (neonatal intensive care unit).

How I thrive

The body and mind were both meant to be used. I consider regular exercise and adequate rest to be essential to health and well-being. My activities include walking, using the stairs at work rather than the elevators, and going to the gym. In addition, I enjoy reading, art, listening to music, and cooking.
