Hi, everyone! For those of you who have never met me, let me take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself.
I was born and raised in Orange County but spent almost 10 years in New York City for my medical education. Living back East is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I learned about new cultures and a different way of living. I currently live in Costa Mesa, where I am close to my parents, my brother, and my friends. Moving back home has been so positive for me. When I’m not working, I’m traveling or planning a trip. I try to do one big trip each year. Before I moved back to California, I spent a month in Bali on a meditation retreat, which then inspired me to take a trip to Thailand. My latest adventure took me to New Zealand and Australia. New places I still want to visit include India, Nepal, Argentina, Chile, Kenya, Namibia. What about you?
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011 and, since I first joined, coming to work each day is a joy and privilege. I have a unique position in that I spend half of my time seeing patients directly and the other half is spent as the mentoring physician for the UC Irvine dermatology residents. I love teaching, and I spend a lot of my day breaking down complicated information into something comprehensible for my patients, residents, and students. I truly love dermatology, and I want everyone else to love it, too!
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. To best maintain my physical and mental wellness, I practice yoga three to four times per week. I’ve become much more health conscious in the past few years. I really think about what I put into my body, and I’m always looking for new and different ways to cook healthy, organic, and interesting food.
