I grew up in New York City, at a time when there were many neighborhoods full of children on most every block. I am one of 9 children in my family. I attended Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing for my undergraduate degree in nursing, and then a master’s degree in geriatrics. I moved to Colorado in 1994. I dreamed of becoming a nurse since I was a young girl, and took every opportunity to get my education. I have been in nursing for 41 years, and caring for the elderly population has always been my interest.
I will do a comprehensive examination, chart review, and involve the member and family in care planning. I have physician support, as well as support from pharmacology and specialists. I am a detail person—I don’t want to miss anything, so I spend a lot of time reviewing records, and spend as much time as I can with a member. My goal is to explore all options, and give the best care to my members. I am part of the Complex Care team that goes out to see members every 2-3 months for acute issues. I provide care where members are, whether it is in their home, nursing home, assisted living, or group home.
I love to be active playing pickle ball, riding my bike, or working out at the YMCA. I look forward to trips to see family and friends. Getting a phone call or a text from my two daughters is especially uplifting as they both live out of state.
