Growing up in China and moving to Denver as a child has been the most influential event in my life. My parents gave up everything to move here, including their careers – especially my father, who was an orthopedic surgeon. As an immigrant, I learned the importance of hard work from an early age, often waking up before school to help deliver newspapers. I never took the opportunities I had for granted. My education took me from Cherry Creek High School to CU Boulder. Then I moved to the East Coast to attend Drexel University for my medical training, residing in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After my residency back here in Colorado, I completed 3 additional fellowships in hand surgery (Indianapolis, Indiana), pediatric hand surgery (Dallas, Texas), and pediatric orthopedics (Auckland, New Zealand). From the warm, authentic people to the natural beauty of this state and all the outdoor adventures, I am grateful to live and work in Colorado. It has been quite a journey to get here, and I couldn’t have done it without my best friend, my wife, our adventurous son, and all of my teachers and mentors along the way. I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente team and look forward to serving as a part of your care team. I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2020.
