About Me

I’m glad to have this opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It’s very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.

Biography

I moved to San Diego in 2005, after spending most of my life on the East Coast. I often go back to the metropolitan New York area to visit family and friends. My family is originally from India, and my life has been influenced greatly by the combination of Eastern and Western cultures. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I was on the faculties of the UC San Diego Medical Center and the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York. After spending several years engaging in research and training future physicians and subspecialists, I realized that the most satisfying moments in my work life have been spent in the direct care of my patients. So I decided to take a position that would allow me to do exactly that.

About my practice

Practicing medicine is a very special opportunity to connect with and help people in meaningful ways, utilizing medical skills and knowledge but also listening and responding to what people need. It’s a privilege to help members understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, get them appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. I do my best to give my members the same care that I would want my own family to receive.

How I thrive

I try to preserve good health by maintaining a balance among the things that are important to me—challenging mental activities, physical exercise, productive work, and personal relationships.
