About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.

Biography

I am originally from New England and attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, for my undergraduate and medical degrees. I completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and a fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center. I am double board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. I have enjoyed working for Kaiser Permanente since I began in 2011.

About my practice

In developing recommendations for a treatment plan for a member, I consider not just the problem being presented but also the entire context in which it occurs. I see people as more than simply a collection of symptoms; I strive to understand them in terms of who they are and what is going on in their lives. My focus is on recovery and healing and empowering each person to take control of his or her mental health and wellness. I collaborate regularly with colleagues in counseling, health education, and medicine to help our members achieve their best health.

How I thrive

As an activist and advocate, it is my mission to fight the stigma of mental illness. I am a regular contributor to the American Psychiatric Association’s Healthy Mind blog. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family. My hobbies include photography, cooking, music, hiking, yoga, and traveling.
