Where I practice
A Vermont native, I have always maintained an active lifestyle. Downhill ski racing, hiking, and mountain biking were some of my favorite activities as a youth, but I soon outgrew the hills and trails of New England. My eyes had always been on the big mountains and trees of the West Coast, so when I graduated from nurse anesthesia school in Portland, Maine, I headed straight for Portland, Oregon. Here, the people are just as friendly but the mountains are MUCH bigger. Now I can use the cool and collected demeanor I developed through many years of participating in adrenaline-heavy sports to keep my patients calm and happy before their surgical procedures.
About my practice
I care for patients on some of the scariest days of their lives. My job is to make each patient feel like the center of attention and to feel calm and comfortable, so that the only thought on their minds before surgery is "I can't wait to feel better and get back to my normal life," or at least "What I am going to eat after this awesome nap?!" Whether you're having a quick hand procedure or a lengthy, involved surgery, I'll be your vigilant and attentive anesthesia provider. The last worry on your mind should be the anesthesia, and I'll be there to make certain of that. As a Kaiser Permanente provider, I'm well supported in many ways, which makes my job caring for you stress-free and enjoyable for all involved.
How I thrive
Being active and staying close to nature is how I keep my mind, body, and spirit in harmony. Whether I'm out on my mountain bike, hiking with my husband and two dogs, or even just working in my garden, I find solace in being surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Because of my love for nature and animals, I volunteer both for our local chapter of the Sierra Club and for local animal sanctuaries and shelters. Food is also a passion of mine, and you'll frequently find me testing new healthy recipes or checking out the latest restaurant openings in Portland.
