Where I practice
I was born in the beautiful island nation of the Maldives. With my deep passion for the sciences and strong desire to help people in need, I knew from a very young age that I wanted to practice medicine. Volunteering at a general practitioner’s office and a nursing home in England during high school, as well as working as a doctor’s assistant in the Maldives, further cemented my interest in medicine. I moved to the United States in 2009 and lived in New York, Virginia, and California before settling in the Pacific Northwest. Following my residency training, I served at an Indian Health Clinic, as well as a community health center in California.
About my practice
I enjoy working with families and keeping the whole family healthy. Even though I have mostly focused on adult medicine in the past, I am eager to expand my practice to include younger members of the family as well. Listening to and taking the time to truly understand my patient’s needs is the core of my practice. This allows me to match the most appropriate, effective, and evidence-based care to each and every one of my patients so that they can live healthy and happy lives. I focus on whole-person well-being: physical, emotional, and spiritual. I emphasize lifestyle interventions in all aspects of health and healing. I integrate preventive medicine within my primary care practice for all my patients. My door is open for anyone interested in giving up tobacco use. I truly believe this is the best thing you can do for your health!
How I thrive
I feel blessed to be able to do what I love in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! I love traveling and exploring new environments and cultures. My husband and I spend our weekends hiking and exploring the great outdoors. To unwind I like to meditate and do yoga. I have recently taken up vegetarian cooking and gardening as new hobbies.
