About me

I was born and raised in Eugene, and received my undergraduate degree in Physics from Oregon State University. I earned my Master's degree in Medical Physics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and worked for several years in Sacramento, California. I missed the rain, however, and was thrilled to move back home to Oregon in 2007. I love Portland, and there's nowhere I'd rather be.

About my practice

As a Medical Physicist, I am privileged to apply my technical and scientific knowledge to directly improve patients' lives. Radiation treatment for cancer is a complex and constantly evolving procedure, and my role is to ensure that every step, from the CT simulation to the treatment planning process to the treatment delivery itself, is accurate, safe, and effective to provide the best possible outcome for the patient. It is a responsibility that I take very seriously, and I am proud to work with a team where every individual shares an unwavering commitment to excellent patient care.

How I thrive

My greatest passion is writing, and I have a completed novel and several short stories in the process of publication. I'm also an animal lover and amateur dog trainer, and trained my Golden Retriever, Samwise, to be a certified therapy dog. Together we volunteer as an animal therapy team at a local rehabilitation center for patients recovering from surgery. Most of my daily work is behind the scenes, so few patients ever see me. Volunteering gives me the opportunity to bond with patients on a personal level.
