Where I practice
Born and raised along the Oregon Coast, I knew at an early age that I wanted to pursue a career in health care. The innate wisdom and tremendous complexity of the human body has always captivated me, and that fascination led me on an unconventional pathway to nursing and medicine. I started my career in the fields of naturopathic and Chinese medicine as a graduate of the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) here in Portland. After completing my Naturopathic Doctor and Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degrees, I completed two years of a general medicine residency at NCNM. Following my passion for women’s health care and integrative medicine, I further diversified my education by obtaining a Master of Nursing degree, focused in midwifery, from Oregon Health & Science University. After my time at OHSU, I had the pleasure of serving in senior leadership roles at NCNM/NUNM, where I was responsible for overseeing the residency program and, eventually, was Dean of the Naturopathic Program. I will forever be grateful for my time in academic administration, but my greatest interest has always been patient care, and I am thrilled now to serve as a OB/GYN provider.
About my practice
I am passionate about integrative health care, collaborative medicine, and evidence-informed practice. My clinical experiences have been balanced between primary care and women’s health. I enjoy working with women during all stages of their reproductive and menopausal years, and I feel fortunate to be one of a handful of providers within Kaiser Permanente who focus on fertility care. My goal is to be a supportive partner on every patient's overall care team and to provide individualized and patient-centered care to help them achieve optimal health.
How I thrive
On a personal note, I have two amazing daughters and two rambunctious golden retrievers, and am blessed to be able to share life’s journey with my high-school sweetheart. My daughters are active in sports, and on weekends you’ll often find me on the sidelines attempting to understand the nuances of basketball and soccer. In my free time I enjoy biking, kayaking, swimming, or just enjoying the endless beauty of the Pacific Northwest with my family.
