Originally from the Garden State of New Jersey, I fell in love with Oregon several years ago. I chose medicine as a career after extensive research in the field of health psychology and chronic disease management. Medicine fulfills my interests in the mind-body connection as well as different aspects of disease. After completing a portion of my formal training on the East Coast, I decided to move west for my internal medicine residency. I feel grateful and privileged to be able to practice medicine in Oregon, as I believe we can provide our patients with excellent care in a progressive multidisciplinary environment. I discovered Northwest Permanente during my residency training and was impressed with the quality of care that this medical group provides for KP members. NWP allows me to succeed in bringing wellness to the community.
I am a board-certified, outpatient, internal medicine physician. I place a strong emphasis on prevention and wellness. Good communication in the clinic is key to a successful physician-patient therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help my patients discover the best treatment plan tailored to them, thereby creating balance in their lives. As an internal medicine physician, I treat all of the organ systems in the body in individuals age 18 and older. My specific interests include cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, anxiety, and depression. I also have extra training in musculoskeletal dysfunction, which includes manual manipulative treatments. The best part about working for Kaiser Permanente is being able to come to work every day and provide high-quality care for my patients while working side by side with outstanding colleagues.
Like most people who live in the Pacific Northwest, I find that I recharge in nature, whether that is a simple walk with my dog or an excursion to the coast. Physical activity on a daily basis is very important to my mind, body, and spirit. Whether running, hiking, skiing, or biking I like to stay active. I also engage in mind-body practices, including meditation every morning. Staying centered and grounded allows me to be present for my patients. Lastly, we are constantly surrounded by beauty in this part of the country, and sharing this with family and friends is a great way to unwind after a work week.
