Where I practice
I was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States during high school. After obtaining a degree in chemical engineering at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, I joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a bioenvironmental engineer/industrial hygienist. During this time, I was introduced to and became interested in the field of occupational medicine. I shifted my career path and pursued a medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences, also in Pomona. I later completed my residency training at Harvard’s Occupational & Environmental Medicine Residency and continued serving the country as an Air Force flight surgeon and occupational medicine physician. The beauty of Northwest drew my wife and me to the region. We enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring the area.
About my practice
As an occupational medicine physician and U.S. Air Force veteran, I enjoy working with all classes of workforces among all industries. My industrial hygiene background provides me with knowledge of the industrial environment and processes. My goal is to provide the best patient care and help patients to recover from illnesses or injuries in a timely manner. Seeing patients thriving and recovering from illness or injury is absolutely rewarding.
How I thrive
Taking care of family while enjoying my work and living environment is how I thrive. My family and I enjoy outdoor activities that include hiking, photography, sports, traveling, and walking our dog on beautiful local trails. We also participate in our daughter’s school and non-school activities. Finally, I spend one weekend a month with Portland Air National Guard as a flight surgeon to help keep our fighting forces healthy.
