Where I practice
I am a native Oregonian, born and raised in Southeast Portland. I have been working with children and adolescents in the mental health field since 2008. I received degrees in both counseling and child and family psychology and am licensed as a professional counselor in the state of Oregon, where I am also certified as an alcohol and drug counselor. I hold certificates in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and collaborative problem-solving therapeutic interventions and am trained as an eating disorder specialty provider.
About my practice
Therapy is about change, and change can be uncomfortable as well as anxiety-provoking and exciting, all at the same time. I work with my patients to develop a treatment plan to ensure that we're unified in our understanding of the goals for care and the strategies for improving. I have an assertive and direct approach in counseling and empower my patients to be in control of their own change process and treatment outcomes.
- Culturally specific care: affirming care for LGBTQIA, non-binary; transgender; all religious and spiritual belief systems
- Population specialties: children and adolescents
- Language capacity: English
- Areas of focus: parenting, pediatric eating disorders, adjustment disorders, OCD and anxiety disorders, self-harm, and depression
How I thrive
My version of thriving includes pizza and Netflix with my friends! I have a very active social life and am blessed to have a large community of friends and family in the Portland area and beyond. I am obsessed with games and competition, whether it's bingo, Chutes and Ladders, Xbox, or charades. I love to draw, and my office is covered in drawings — both my own and those of my patients. I have 2 wonderful fur-babies — Slippers, the dog, and Meowface Meowzers, the cat — and together we thrive by living our best Pacific Northwest life!
