Where I practice
I am originally from the Philippines and trained in family medicine in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I became a doctor because I appreciated the challenge of detecting diseases early and preventing complications, and I chose to become a family physician for its wide scope, including preventive care. My wife is also a physician, and we have a son who loves robots. We chose to live in the Northwest for the balance it offers between city life and the great outdoors.
About my practice
I am a family physician who enjoys taking care of families, from newborns to their young grandparents. I provide prenatal care to expectant mothers and enjoy seeing their children grow. Having spent time in Michigan State University's sports medicine program, I consider treating sports injuries to be something of a hobby. Most of all, I consider preventive care across all ages to be paramount to my practice. Catching a disease process early can save lives. I spend a lot of time empowering and educating my patients so that they can better take care of themselves and take control of their health care. I am privileged to be part of a system that strives for patient empowerment.
How I thrive
Seasonal activities keep me busy and help me thrive as a person. Raising my son and watching him grow occupies most of my time. We love day hikes, reading, and learning new languages. My family enjoys vacationing in places we have not been, and we're adventurous enough to go off the beaten path. Having grown up in a large metropolis, I am surprised to find that in the Northwest I have become an avid gardener. I always look forward to learning new skills and trying something new.
