Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my work as a physician and physician administrator at Kaiser Permanente.
I was inspired to become an oncologist by the wonderful female physician who cared for a member of my family who had cancer. I’m a transplant from the East Coast but remain in Southern California to be with my husband and his family—also because I believe Kaiser Permanente is the best place to practice medicine. I’m an oncologist who has practiced at our Panorama City Medical Center for more than 20 years. In 2002, I transitioned into my administrative role as the assistant medical director for quality and clinical analysis for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California.
About my practice
I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente. In my roles as clinician and administrator, I strive to make our organization among the best health care providers in the country. A career in medical oncology is a very special privilege that allows me to help people and their families understand what cancer means, and what their options for care are during a time of great stress in their lives. I also very much enjoy my administrative work, which involves assessing new, cutting-edge technologies, drugs, and devices. At the regional level, my work involves improving our cancer screening rates.
How I thrive
My members have taught me much—particularly that keeping balance in life is important. I enjoy training, showing, and hiking with my two Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs—who love to pull me up a hill on a hike!
