Choose an oncologist
An oncologist is a doctor who specializes in treating cancer. You want to feel comfortable with the people treating you. What should you look for?
Experience: How much experience does the doctor have with your type of cancer?
Communication: Can you and your doctor communicate clearly about your care?
Caring: Does your doctor and care team listen to and address your concerns?
Resources: Do your doctor and care team direct you to additional services?
Before choosing — or changing — an oncologist, visit their home pages, and ask other patients for recommendations.
