Reflexology is the belief that specific spots on the hands, feet, and ears are connected to other parts of the body. By pressing on these spots, practitioners of reflexology believe they are able to find health conditions and direct healing energy to the affected part of the body. Most reflexology concentrates on the feet.

Reflexology may have roots as far back as ancient Egypt. Reflexology in the form of "zone therapy" was introduced in the United States during the early 1900s.

Trustworthy reflexologists do not claim that they are able to cure disease or make specific diagnoses. Instead, they believe that many diseases are the result of stress, and that reflexology treatments reduce stress and allow the body to help heal itself.
