Jerry W. Van Meter, MD
I speak: English, French
My gender: Male
Where I practice
I was born in China and after being adopted, was raised in Southern California. I attended Stanford University for my undergraduate degree, and then remained in California for my medical school training at UC Davis School of Medicine, and subsequent orthopedic surgery residency training at UC San Francisco. During residency I had the benefit of additional training in hand surgery and arthroscopy surgery.
About my practice
The Hawaii Permanente Medical Group is structured in a way that allows physicians to focus on providing quality medical care. Our physicians strive to be experts in their chosen fields in order to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. I am an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the International Arthroscopy Association.
How I thrive
I routinely try to exercise for one hour five to six times a week. I also enjoy reading a variety of books. Several times a year I participate as a volunteer surgeon with Aloha Medical Missions, a non-profit organization providing care to underserved people in the Pacific, Hawaii and Asia.
