I was born in Hong Kong, China and raised on the island of Oahu. After graduating from Kaiser High School I received my undergraduate degree from Stanford University. I practiced in Philadelphia for a few years before coming back to my beloved Hawaii, where I live with my husband and children.
About my practice
During high school I participated in the “Summer Program for the Enhancement of Basic Education Medical Science” at the University of Hawaii. The program was similar to medical school and it really sparked my interest in medicine. I was always attracted to internal medicine because I enjoy seeing my patients routinely and helping them maintain their health. It’s especially fulfilling to see my patients invest in so much time and effort to successfully reach their optimal goals for managing their chronic conditions. The Hawaii Permanente Medical Group is very patient-centered and proactive. I appreciate the great service members are given, which is particularly evident when our staff conveniently schedules appointments with specialists on behalf of our patients rather than asking them to do it themselves. I believe that living a healthy lifestyle can work wonders. Some of my most active and independent patients exercise regularly, eat healthy and don’t drink or smoke. I love being able to share good news with my patients by telling them that they improved their blood pressure or cholesterol through hard work and perseverance.
How I thrive
I love relaxing with my family. My greatest joy is watching my children grow and learn. Seeing their excitement as they experience all that our beautiful island has to offer has been the ultimate reward.
