Where I practice
I was born in Los Angeles, California, and moved to Maui with my family when I was three years old. I feel fortunate to have enjoyed my childhood in Maui and am equally grateful to be practicing in a community I love and know so well.
About my practice
My longtime fascination with the sciences, particularly the mind/body connection, influenced me to pursue a career in medicine and specialize in psychiatry. In my opinion, psychiatry is one of the most captivating and intriguing medical specialties. I continue to be enamored with the positive effects that psychiatry can have and appreciate the opportunities to help people lead healthier lives, both physically and mentally. When patients recover from mental illness and substance abuse, I believe they get their lives back. It is a privilege to be their partner on the road to recovery, and to be able to do this in the community I grew up in is doubly rewarding. I believe in doing what is best for the patient's health, even when it is not easy. I am an active member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). I also appreciate being a part of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group and the wonderful professional collaboration that is available to me at all times.
How I thrive
To stay healthy and balanced, I try to get plenty of sleep, eat well and exercise. I also make it a point to set aside time for leisure activities with my family. I love being outdoors, reading and enjoy film avidly.
