Where I practice
I grew up at the northwest gate to the Sunshine State in Pensacola, Fla., but Atlanta became my second home as I completed degrees at Emory University in the undergraduate college, the School of Public Health and the School of Medicine. Determined to reach the record for number of years in training at a single institution, I also completed my internship and residency at Emory by spending time not just at Emory Hospital, but also at the VA Hospital in Decatur and Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta.
About my practice
I feel incredibly lucky to practice radiology. I spent an extra year of training at the Mayo Clinic specializing in the interpretation of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of the abdomen and pelvis, breast imaging and performance of ultrasound guided procedures. Though my primary role in the care for Kaiser Permanente members is "behind the scenes" interpreting images, I am keenly aware of the impact that radiologists can have on detecting diseases and guiding treatment. I see every exam I interpret as an individual.
How I thrive
I thrive by striving to balance time between work and my family. My family and I enjoy visiting the Atlanta Zoo, Stone Mountain and the splash pad at Piedmont Park. I am also working hard to build my collection of Peachtree Road Race t-shirts!
