About me

I am a Georgia girl, born and raised. I lived in Savannah until I graduated from high school and went to college. I moved to the Atlanta area with my family in 2002. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children. I started my career working in a nursing home over 30 years ago. During that time, I enjoyed hearing the many stories told by my patients about their life journeys. It allowed me to look at aging in a different way and to have a totally different perspective for geriatric medicine. I was so amazed by their wisdom. It was then I realized that medicine was the correct path in life for me. Most of my nurse practitioner training is in family practice, but I also completed a clinical rotation in pediatrics, as well as some work in a pediatric intensive care unit. I consider it a privilege and a pleasure to have impacted the lives of so many people and families over my years of practicing medicine. I love what I do, and I would not consider doing anything else. I chose this path in life because I have always had a compassion for helping people and a desire to improve the health of others.

About my practice

I am very proud to be a part of Kaiser Permanente's Express Care team. My role as an Express Care nurse practitioner is to provide same day or next day service to members age two and older who are experiencing an acute illness such as a sore throat, ear pain or pink eye. Express Care makes it easy and more convenient for our members to get the care they want, when they want it and where they want it. Our goal is to assist you and your family with your non-urgent health care needs.

How I thrive

I strive to have a balanced work, family and spiritual life. I do this by finding time in my schedule to pray, meditate, worship, fellowship, travel, exercise, attend my son's soccer and baseball games, attend my daughter's softball games and co-lead my daughter's Girl Scout troop. I am very adventurous and have traveled to China, Egypt, Germany, Israel, Sweden, Finland and Russia. One last thing about me that always seems to amaze people is that I love to roller skate!

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. The measures may include, but are not limited to, HEDIS/CAHPS performance, member/patient complaints, patient safety scores, hospital quality measures, and geographic need. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
