Where I practice
I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and received my nursing degree from Niagara University. My early experience includes four years as a nurse on Indian reservations and four years in the Air Force as a captain in the Nursing Corps. After deciding to become a midwife, I attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, graduating in 1992. I worked as a midwife in a migrant community health center for five years following my graduation.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1999 and feel that this is a wonderful place to practice my profession. I have been blessed - personally, spiritually and professionally - throughout my career.
About my practice
I am part of a team of nurse-midwives, nurse practitioners and doctors that make up the Kaiser Permanente Ob/Gyn Department. Each of us is dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, promoting health and helping our members lead healthy lifestyles. We practice the full-scope of midwifery care, including physicals, birth control, problem gynecological issues, prenatal and labor and delivery care. It is very rewarding for me to see members year after year and keep up on what is happening in their lives.
How I thrive
I enjoy outdoor activities such as gardening, biking and working around the house, and recently began learning to kayak. I focus on exercising and eating healthy, and I find that I feel great, both mentally and physically, when they are in balance. I am a pet lover and have two Dobermans, Iris and Daisy. I also am very blessed to have a wonderful church and family that support me. I volunteer as a facilitator for a financial planning course offered at my church and occasionally work at a women's shelter.
