Where I practice
Becoming a physician was my dream and desire from the age of 12. This desire was instilled in me by my grandmother through encouragement and guidance. Not completing her education, she pushed hard for me to follow my dreams.I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama, and I am a die-hard 'Bama fan. I then completed my medical education at the University of South Alabama (USA) College of Medicine. I traveled to Augusta, Ga. for training in internal medicine and gastroenterology.I returned to USA College of Medicine to teach for two years, followed by eight years in private practice in Alabama. However, spending more time with my growing family was a commitment I made to my wife and daughters. Subsequently, I moved to Atlanta to work with Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
Working in gastroenterology has given me great satisfaction. I love to work with my hands, and performing endoscopy is both challenging and rewarding. Identifying a problem can frequently lead to immediate treatment. In addition, I am proud to be a member of the Gastroenterology Department, knowing that our physicians are focused on performing endoscopic procedures in an efficient and safe manner. My practice philosophy is to teach members as much as possible about their specific problem and help guide them in making decisions regarding their choices of treatment options.
How I thrive
To bring clarity to the day, I exercise at least 15 minutes every morning. This, along with following a prudent diet, allows me to focus on maintaining good overall health.Outside of work, playing golf has become my passion, and I try to play as much as possible.
