Where I practice
I am originally from San Antonio, Texas. After completing my undergraduate studies at Trinity University and medical school at University of Texas at San Antonio, my wife and I moved to Memphis, Tenn. to complete my general surgery training. After residency, we moved to Atlanta, where I completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and bariatrics at Emory University.
My wife and I have a son and a daughter, and we enjoy family time very much! We are always looking for new adventures in and around Atlanta.
About my practice
I am proud to be part of such a strong surgery department at Kaiser Permanente. My practice focuses on advanced laparoscopic, robotic and minimally invasive techniques to treat diseases of the foregut (esophagus and stomach), gallbladder and hernias, as well as performing weight loss operations. I perform laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomies, laparoscopic gastric bypasses, revisional surgery, as well as lap band maintenance. I believe weight-loss surgery is a powerful tool that can help improve many of the health issues that are commonly associated with obesity and have dedicated a significant amount of my clinical practice to integrate and expand our bariatric surgery program.
How I thrive
I enjoy the outdoors and experiencing new adventures. I am a sports fan and split my allegiances between Texas and Atlanta teams. My wife and I try our best to keep up with our two young and very active children. We love family outings and watching them experience everything around them.
