I am originally from San Antonio, Texas. After completing my undergraduate studies at Trinity University and medical school at University of Texas at San Antonio, it was time for me to leave Texas! To complete my general surgery training, my wife and I moved to Memphis, Tenn. After a few years there, we decided to move to Atlanta, where I completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and bariatrics at Emory University. My wife and I have one son, and we enjoy family time very much! We are always looking for new adventures in and around Atlanta.
About my practice
I am proud to be part of such a strong surgery department here at Kaiser Permanente. My practice focuses on advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques to treat diseases of the foregut (esophagus and stomach), gallbladder and hernias. I also have a special interest in weight-loss surgery, in which I perform sleeve gastrectomies and gastric bypass operations. I believe weight-loss surgery is a powerful tool that can help improve many of the health issues that are commonly associated with obesity.
How I thrive
I enjoy the outdoors and experiencing new adventures. I am a sports fan and try my best to keep up with all of the latest news. My wife and I also try our best to keep up with our young and very active son. We love family outings and watching him experience everything around him.
