I grew up in a small town in North Carolina. I loved biology in school and became a nursing assistant in high school. I found satisfaction in the care and comfort of others and chose to combine this with my interest in women's health by becoming a nurse-midwife. After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved to Atlanta to pursue my master's degree in nurse-midwifery at Emory University.
About my practice
I have been with Kaiser Permanente for over 13 years and am grateful to work for an organization where I can focus on high-quality patient care.I work closely with numerous Ob/Gyn physicians and nurse-midwives in our practice at Gwinnett Medical Center. We share in the care all of our pregnant patients. This enables me to practice full-scope midwifery with a great, supportive team.
How I thrive
Life is not always predictable or fun, but I try to never take myself too seriously. I enjoy watching comedies and believe laughter makes everyone feel better. I also try to jog and stay active as much as I can.For fun and relaxation, I like to read, jog, volunteer at church and spend time with my husband, daughter and two cats. To decrease stress, I strive to stay connected with my family and friends.
