Kaiser Permanente medical center practitioner
My gender: Female
Yes, I’m accepting new patients. Referral may be required.
I am a Florida native who loves the sunshine and being near the water. I attended Furman University, in Greenville, S.C., and became an athletic trainer initially. I quickly decided to further my education and began my master's degree at Nova Southeastern, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 2004. I moved to Atlanta in 2007 when I began my career as a physician assistant in internal medicine. Two years later, I began working solely in the emergency department. Since then, I have also worked in the urgent care setting. I enjoy taking care of a wide variety of acute injuries and illnesses, as well as seeing a diverse population of patients.
I feel fortunate to work with Kaiser Permanente as it affords collaboration with primary care physicians, as well as specialists, which results in continuity of care. This is a key aspect that was missing in other emergency departments I have worked in prior to joining Kaiser Permanente. I feel this affords the best care for the members, which is fulfilling for both the patients and the providers.
Exercise is very important for both my physical and mental health. I try to incorporate yoga and outdoor activities into daily life. I also enjoy listening to podcasts while going to and from work or on walks through Piedmont Park. My main escape is traveling near or far, as often as possible.
