Where I practice
I was born in Kurdistan and became a refugee at a very young age. After several years of fleeing war, my family and I were granted refugee asylum when I was 8 years old. We arrived to friendly faces and country music in Nashville, Tennessee! I remained in Tennessee for my undergraduate and medical school training, but moved to Dallas, Texas for seven years for my post-graduate training.
My favorite part of medicine is the relationships I develop with my patients. I love getting to know people from all walks of life and learning from them too. I choose cardiology because I truly feel I can make a positive difference in our members lives given our understanding of cardiovascular disease and the advancement in medical technology and therapeutics. I am also a strong believer in preventing cardiovascular disease by addressing risk factors early and aggressively.
About my practice
I am a general cardiologist and see members with coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. My practice also includes cardiac imaging. I have a strong interest in preventive cardiology. I am so excited to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente Cardiology Department and work with world-class colleagues, providing high-quality patient-centered care.
How I thrive
I love spending time with my husband and my family. I really enjoy cooking and trying different cuisines. I am also fluent in Kurdish.
