Where I practice
I am family nurse practitioner, specializing in cardiology with the Kaiser Permanente Cardiology Department. I received my bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina - Wilmington. After graduation, I began my career as a registered nurse working in the cardiac unit at a local hospital in Atlanta. I continued my education and earned my master's degree in nursing from Duke University. I am credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a family nurse practitioner and am member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
About my practice
My practice philosophy as a nurse practitioner centrally revolves around the idea of partnership. I strive to empower our members to take an active role in their health care through education on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices and the development of patient-specific plans of care. These goals are supported through collaboration with other health care professionals at Kaiser Permanente in the best interest of high-quality patient care.
How I thrive
Work-life balance is so important. I have always maintained a healthy lifestyle through physical activity - it keeps me mentally alert and happy! My favorite activities are swimming and running, both competitively and just for fun. I also love to spend time cooking, entertaining, hiking, traveling and being with my family and friends.
