Where I practice
I was born and raised in Kansas, but my name is Nigerian. My parents immigrated from Nigeria and instilled in their children the importance of education. Although I am a Midwest girl at heart, I keep working my way down South to the good food and good weather. I am married and have a young family that brings joy to my heart. I also have two younger sisters and we are all in medicine.
I chose to go into medicine at an early age, always having a natural drive for helping people. I fell in love with family medicine after shadowing my family doctor as a youth. I remember the trust, respect and admiration I had for my family physician because of the care and general concern he always had for me and my whole family.
I have a natural passion for wellness and the prevention of disease. I began my career in health care as a certified nurse assistant (CNA) while I was in high school and worked as a CNA through my undergraduate studies. I feel that this gives me a well-rounded understanding of the patient experience and has made me a better doctor.
About my practice
I am an osteopathic physician and I am board certified in family medicine. I truly believe and practice the osteopathic founding principles of treating the whole person and not just the symptoms. I treat a wide range of chronic medical conditions including hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, and high cholesterol, and I place an emphasis on wellness with disease prevention. My mantra in life is, "Prevention is better than cure." Each person is an individual and no two people are the same. In my opinion, you know your body best as you are in it 24/7. It is important that we work together to come up with an individualized treatment plan that works best for you using evidence-based medicine.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I enjoy experiencing new locations in and around Atlanta. We also love museums and foreign cuisines. I attend church with my family and love to volunteer in my free time.
