Where I practice
I am a recent transplant to the Atlanta area from Texas, but I was born and raised in San Jose, Calif. I am the middle child of three, and all of my family still resides in California, where I visit frequently. I am the only physician in the family, as my father is an engineer and my mother a school teacher. My younger sister a physical therapist and my older, wiser brother is a computer engineer. I am married to my fantastic wife, a nurse, who I met in California. I have two beautiful daughters, who, along with my wife, are the loves of my life. We moved to Georgia to be closer to my wife's family and for the opportunity for me to join the great Kaiser Permanente team.
About my practice
My specialty is general surgery, which includes a broad range of surgical issues. I enjoy the variety of surgical procedures that include many abdominal ailments related to the gallbladder, intestine, colon, appendix and hernias. I also enjoy office procedures which include skin cancer, melanoma and other "lumps-and-bumps." I perform most of my abdominal procedures using laparoscopic techniques via a small incision. I truly enjoy performing a variety of surgeries, and I am able and willing to be available to you, in the event you need my surgical services.
How I thrive
I keep a balanced approach to life through my family, work and hobbies. My family is very important to me. I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, as well as my family in California. I love being a surgeon and strive each day to do my best and provide high-quality care for our Kaiser Permanente members. We have a great surgical team! For my hobbies, I enjoy sports - both playing and watching. My wife and I are big football fans. I grew up playing many sports, and I played soccer in college. I enjoy working out and running on a daily basis, as time permits. We also like to travel and beach destinations are our favorite! Lastly, I have discovered the underwater world of reef aquarium keeping. I have a 120-gallon saltwater tank that I enjoy taking care of and watching as corals and fish adapt and grow. In all, I try to maintain a balanced life that keeps me centered, grounded and thriving as a person and as a surgeon to meet your medical needs.
