I was born and raised in a small but bustling city in Connecticut. It was, and somewhat remains, the center of my universe. I graduated from Spelman College and treasured my time in Atlanta. I returned to Connecticut to complete medical school at the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!). I became the second doctor in my family, with my sister being the first, and we are both Ob/Gyns. I had the great opportunity of working with her for many years. I am the middle child and have wonderful siblings that I adore. My parents have worked all their lives serving the community. My mother continues to work to help all those she can. I learned the importance, responsibility and honor of helping others from my parents and siblings.
I love obstetrics and gynecology. The strength of women is remarkable to me. I am honored that I have the ability to help women through the various stages of their lives. I enjoy the gynecologic, contraceptive, prenatal and fertility counseling visits with our members. Several days each month I perform surgeries such as hysteroscopies, laparoscopies and hysterectomies, to name a few. The practice of obstetrics and gynecology is very interesting, fluid and dynamic.
I thrive by spending time with my family and friends. My brother is a triathlete and has been encouraging me to continue running. My goal is to exercise four to five times per week and to run a half-marathon and then later a full marathon. I have completed a 20K so I am on my way. Who knows, maybe one day I can do a triathlon with him!
I am an avid reader and love going to bookstores. I love the arts and attend many of Atlanta's festivals. I am a new artist and love to paint (using acrylic media). I love to travel, but do not have much time to do so and thus I read often. My second love is movies. I spend a lot of my free time watching new and old films.
