Kaiser Permanente medical center practitioner
My gender: Female
Yes, I'm accepting new patients.
I was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo., "The Show Me State." I am a true Missouri native, and as a child, I was always asking questions about how things worked. My dad nicknamed me "Miss Fix-it" because I wanted to help him with all home repairs.I knew I wanted to become a pediatrician singe the age of 12. There are many health care professionals in my family, as my mother and aunts are nurses and I have one aunt that is the dean of a medical school. I had many opportunities to shadow the doctors my mom worked with.I received my medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin (Marquette School of Medicine), and completed my pediatric residency training at Emory University affiliated hospitals. I remained at Emory an additional year as chief resident in pediatrics, supervising interns and residents. My family includes my husband, son, daughter and my dog, Baby, who is a Jack Russell Terrier.
My practice includes multiple roles. I see patients in the office as well as newborns at Piedmont Hospital. I also have administrative duties. My role as a teacher has continued as my partners and I teach and mentor medical students and physician assistant students on a daily basis. My goal as a pediatrician is to establish a genuine relationship with each family, be a good listener and be receptive to any concerns.
Although my children are away in college, I still have my dog at home who keeps me very active. I love working with children and watching them grow and develop into productive leaders. I am a Girl Scouts troop leader and have been for 10 years. We do lots of activities, community service projects, volunteer work with senior citizens, camping and of course, selling cookies!
