Where I practice
I was born in Meridian, Miss., but I grew up in Texas and Georgia. My inspirations for choosing nursing as my career came from my aunt (who was a nurse) and my stay in the hospital at an early age. At the age of five, I had to have major surgery. While in the hospital, the nurses providing my care and treatments were kind and gentle. It was during my hospitalization that I decided I wanted to become a nurse. I wanted to be someone who could make others feel better and provide the same kind of care those nurses had given me. I am married and live in Cobb County. My daughter lives in Tennessee and my husband's two children live in Atlanta.
About my practice
I like to work with our members to help them understand their diagnosis and how to better manage their health. I love to teach them about how to live healthy and how to prevent illnesses. I have worked in several specialties, including cardiology, gastroenterology, surgery, ENT and research. I believe that providing the patient with information empowers them to be able to take charge of their health and to make better choices in their life.
How I thrive
I like taking walks with my husband and our two dogs or working on one of my many craft projects. I enjoy knitting, cross stitching, building puzzles and creating stain glass pieces. Occasionally, I make time for sipping a cup of tea and reading a good book.
