Where I practice
As the University of North Carolina’s school song states, "I'm a Tarheel born, I’m a Tarheel bred.” I am a native of North Carolina, and I grew up along the North Carolina coast. I love the ocean and the sea breeze. My father was also a physician and, following in his footsteps, I always wanted to be a pediatrician. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for undergraduate and medical school. After medical school, I moved to Atlanta for my pediatric training at Emory University. With the exception of about four years, I have been in Atlanta ever since. I have now been a pediatrician with Kaiser Permanente for more than 18 years.
About my practice
My practice is general pediatrics. I also have rounding duties in the newborn nursery. I love children, and I cannot imagine being anything other than a pediatrician. Watching children grow and develop, healthy and happy, is such a joy! Knowing that I have been instrumental in this process is truly a gratifying and fulfilling experience. It is an honor and privilege to have parents entrust me with the care of their children. I enjoy building relationships with our members and their families. I will always work hard to provide your children with the most up-to-date and appropriate care and advice. I work alongside a group of equally dedicated and well-trained doctors and nurses. When I am not in the office, I am confident they will provide the same quality of care for you and your child. Kaiser Permanente is a team committed to providing you and your family with professional and quality service.
How I thrive
I try to practice what I preach, and I really put forth the effort to exercise at least four times a week. I enjoy cooking, therefore, eating well and incorporating healthy, well-prepared foods in my diet is part of the fun! Spending quality time with family and friends is important to me. I love traveling, container gardening and just being outdoors. I have a Cairn terrier (the same type of dog as Toto in the Wizard of Oz), and she keeps me busy too! I honestly believe, "Laughter is the best medicine." I try keeping a positive attitude, as well as being mindful of and thankful for my blessings!
