Where I practice
I am a practicing internist with the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. As a partner provider, I care for Kaiser Permanente patients across Colorado, instead of at a single medical office.
I am also a physician investigator at the Institute for Health Research. My research interests are in clinical informatics with a focus on understanding the flow of data from the point-of-care to its collection and use in research, decision support, chronic disease management, and quality of care. I also focus on virtual care options for care delivery, such as patient-physician email communication and telehealth. In addition, I am a utilization management physician reviewer in the Resource Stewardship department at Kaiser Permanente Colorado and a member of the CPMG innovation team. I am active in several professional associations, including serving as the treasurer for the Colorado Chapter of the American College of Physicians and as a diplomate in the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Clinical Informatics of the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
I earned my Master of Science in Public Health degree at the University of Colorado, Denver, and completed my doctoral training in biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I completed medical training at the University of Colorado, Denver, as well as a combined residency in internal medicine and preventive medicine.
About my practice
I listen and seek to understand each patient’s questions and concerns. Electronic medical records help me to see the big picture of a patient’s health, so I can make good use of our time together and answer your questions. I work as a team with our primary care providers, specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate your care. I am dedicated to improving the health care delivery process and am highly involved in implementing a range of point-of-care decision support and telehealth tools for use in clinical practice.
How I thrive
I am involved in my church and serve on the missions committee. I have participated in numerous medical mission trips. I like the outdoors, especially skiing.
