Where I practice
I was born in Michigan, but moved many times growing up, living in 13 states prior to moving to Colorado in 1994 to start residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado. I knew that I wanted to be a doctor since second grade but didn’t find my calling for pediatrics until medical school. I fell in love with the energy, honesty and resiliency of children! I married my husband in 2000 and have two healthy children and three dogs.
About my practice
I specialize in general pediatrics and care for all children from birth through 18 years old. I love talking to and interacting with children. I believe in taking the time to get to know children and their families, listening to their concerns, and working as a team to raise children. My focus is on preventive medicine – promoting a healthy lifestyle; screening for developmental, physical and emotional problems; and performing routine physicals. Early diagnosis and early intervention equal better outcomes. I wholeheartedly believe that immunizations are safe and are extremely important to prevent serious (even deadly) diseases in all our children and loved ones.
How I thrive
My family and I enjoy spending time in the mountains, where my extended family live, giving us the fortune to spend time with grandparents and cousins. We hike, bike, ski and boat on Lake Granby. We enjoy attending our kids’ various activities, including music and sports. We also love to travel and explore new areas, especially underwater while scuba diving. For relaxation, I enjoy curling up with a good book!
