Where I practice
I grew up in Florida where I completed medical school and then moved to the wonderful city of Seattle for my residency in Emergency Medicine. Although the Pacific Northwest is absolutely beautiful, having grown up in the Sunshine State, I wanted to move to Colorado to enjoy many more sunny days! One of my growing hobbies is wildlife photography and I look forward to exploring the Rocky Mountains and beyond to capture some more photos.
About my practice
Being an emergency medicine doctor must be one of the most interesting, rewarding, and just plain fun jobs. Every day is different and each patient is unique. I love working as part of a team and I am always so impressed with the talents and skills that my colleagues can contribute to help our patients reach their goals. Although emergency medicine can be fast-paced, it provides me with a unique opportunity to connect on a personal level with my patients, some of whom are in their most vulnerable moments. Visiting the emergency department can be a very scary and confusing experience. I hope to treat each of my patients like a member of my family. I want my patients to be heard, to feel comfortable and to fully understand their current situation and their available options.
How I thrive
The best way that I find fulfillment outside of the emergency department is through the outdoors and team sports. I have been playing basketball since I was a toddler and as a natural byproduct of growing up in Florida, I also play tennis and golf. It wasn't until I moved to the Pacific Northwest that I understood the appeal of the outdoors. Sometimes it is hard to balance all of the possible outdoor activities available, but I get the best tips on where to visit (and where to avoid) from the patients I see in the emergency room.
