Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I grew up in central Illinois where my dad taught at the University of Illinois and my mother worked at our church. As a result of growing up in a university town, I had the opportunity to become involved in computers and networks there in the 1970s and 1980s, which remains an interest to me to this day. I completed my residency in general surgery in Indianapolis at Indiana University in 1996. I was in practice in the Chicago suburbs until 2004 when we relocated to Colorado. My wife and I have two grown children who grew up here in Colorado and a dog named Molly Brown.
I strive to understand your concerns and explain my thoughts on how to best address those concerns in a timely fashion. I’ll work with you to make an appropriate treatment plan that meets your needs. Electronic medical records help me to see the big picture of your health, so I can make good use of our time together and answer your questions. I take care of patients 16 years or older with a wide variety of surgical conditions. I do not personally perform laparoscopic groin hernia surgery, though other general surgeons in our department do.
My wife and I are spending more time traveling now that our children have grown. I enjoy reading both fiction and nonfiction as well as keeping up on surgical literature. I have had the opportunity to run a few half-marathons over the last few years and hope to be able to continue that.

Kaiser Permanente uses the same quality, member experience, or cost-related measures to select practitioners and facilities in Marketplace Silver-tier plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business. Members enrolled in KFHP Marketplace plans have access to all professional, institutional and ancillary health care providers who participate in KFHP plans' contracted provider network, in accordance with the terms of the members' KFHP plan of coverage. All Kaiser Permanente Medical Group physicians and network physicians are subject to the same quality review processes and certifications.
Kaiser Permanente uses the same geographic distribution consideration to select hospitals in Marketplace plans as it does for all other Kaiser Foundation Health Plan (KFHP) products and lines of business.
Information about a practitioner is provided to us by the practitioner or the practitioner's network, or is obtained as part of the credentialing process. An authorization or referral may be required to access some providers in this directory. If you have questions, contact Member Services.
