My gender: Female
Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I am a proud Colorado native and grew up in Littleton and Englewood. I have lived in Durango Colorado, Oakland California, Leysin Switzerland, and now live with my family in Denver. I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Denver, and then my Bachelors and Masters degrees in advanced practice nursing from Samuel Merritt University. My husband and I have three children, two boys and one girl. I chose to be a Nurse Practitioner because I love getting to know people, earning their trust, and giving them a good experience in healthcare. I spent 6 years in a community health setting prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, where I spoke Spanish most of my day. I love getting to use my Spanish with any Kaiser Permanente members. I love to educate my patients and I love to learn from them as well. I see this as a partnership for better health and I truly love what I do. I believe we all have the tools we need to lead healthier lives if we feel we have the right support.
I have been a Nurse Practitioner since 2006 and I see people of any age, from infants to the amazing elderly. I chose family medicine because I really enjoy every age group. I especially like to see multiple family members and getting to know the family as a whole. My background as an emergency room nurse serves me well in all aspects of life. I treat all conditions within my scope and I readily consult with my colleagues as needed. I believe that less intervention is better, and that stress is the root of most problems. I challenge my patients to try and find a good life balance that boosts their overall health. I love the balance I have with seeing acutely ill patients to doing child physicals and well adult visits. I am a strong believer in trigger points and have been learning as much as I can about how to manage these stress points for my patients. I really believe in meeting people where they are at, and being realistic about goals and changes people are willing to make.
I thrive by keeping the things in my life that make me feel good a priority. I know that taking care of my body also takes care of my mind. I think having a physical and a creative outlet for yourself is key, for me its running and photography. I try to eat healthy, and teach my children how to listen to their bodies and pay attention to what they put in them. The same extends to my patients and their families. I try to be positive, upbeat, and friendly because it makes myself and my patients feel better. We love to take our children outdoors, to the mountains or the beach whenever possible. We love sharing Colorado with them and showing them all the amazing things there are to do here. I am a photographer in my free time, and I especially love taking pictures of pregnant women and their babies. I love yoga, cooking, running, hiking, skiing and mostly spending time with my extended family.
