Where I practice
Before becoming a doctor, I trained and worked as an engineer. This experience taught me problem-solving and critical thinking skills that enhance my current career as a surgeon. I went to medical school and completed an orthopedic surgery residency because I wanted to more directly impact the lives of people. My orthopedic training has included two fellowship experiences—one in sports medicine and a second in hip and knee replacement surgeries. I am a proud Colorado native, but have lived, trained and traveled extensively throughout the U.S. Through these experiences, I have learned that nowhere beats the sunshine, mountains and friendly people of Colorado.
About my practice
Arthritis is a painful and disabling condition, and I enjoy providing care options that definitively treat this pain and allow patients to return to activities that they enjoy. My clinical interests and surgical expertise are focused on primary and revision joint replacement for the knee and hip. I use state-of-the-art techniques including the direct anterior approach for hip replacement, and have witnessed how this minimally invasive procedure gets patients back to the activities they enjoy faster. I believe the best treatment plans are made when doctors and patients communicate effectively and share in medical decisions. Most of my patients are age 50 or older, but my practice is open to all adults that need surgical treatment for arthritis. I want Kaiser Permanente members to have access to the best joint replacement procedures available. I work hard to maintain an up-to-date practice and to be a leader in the joint replacement community.
How I thrive
I believe that a healthy body, mind and soul are symbiotic, and I believe that happiness stems from balance. I am passionate about my profession, but am equally passionate about family, sports and outdoor activities. When I am not at work, I enjoy racing competitively in cycling and triathlons, and I love to travel with my family.
