Where I practice
I am a Colorado native, growing up in Lakewood, Colorado. I love the practice of medicine and the challenge that comes with diagnosis. I have been interested in medicine from a very young age after my aunt had a stroke. It was difficult to watch her struggle with gaining back her physical and mental faculties. By watching and helping her overcome some of these difficulties it helped me decide on a career in medicine.I received by undergraduate degree from University of Northern Colorado. I majored in Kinesiology initially thinking I wanted to work in Physical Therapy. I changed gears once I graduated and found I wanted to be on the more diagnostic side of medicine. I then attended Red Rocks Community College Physician Assistant program and received my Masters in Medical Science from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennyslvania.
About my practice
I have been working as a PA in Internal Medicine since 2005 and love getting to know my patients and helping them come up with a care plan that works for their lifestyle. I enjoy treating chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, as well as diagnosing acute issues. I truly enjoy working with my patients to teach them about their diseases and helping them understand the processes. I do believe in shared decision making, and helping patients help themselves. I believe in a healthy balance in life with work and family.
How I thrive
When I am not at work I am spending time with my husband and 3 young children. We love to hike, camp and fish. I love to travel and read.
