Where I practice
I am originally from San Francisco, California, but spent a few years in Germany and Japan during my childhood with my parents who were both teachers. My interest in medicine developed first through experiences with several aunts who were family practice physicians. Throughout my medical training, I was drawn to gynecologic oncology because it focused on providing complex surgical and medical care for patients with gynecologic cancers. I find it tremendously rewarding and inspiring to help women with cancer and hope that I can make it a little easier for them to navigate through difficult situations. I was honored to be recognized as a 5280 Magazine Top Doctor in 2017 and 2018.
About my practice
I am a gynecologic cancer surgeon specializing in the care of women with gynecologic malignancies including ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar cancer, as well pre-invasive disease and complex benign conditions. I have a special interest in minimally invasive procedures using robotic laparoscopic procedures. I am also interested in hereditary gynecologic cancer syndromes.
I feel very privileged to take care of my patients and appreciate the relationships we develop. I focus on partnering with each patient to determine the best treatment plan for her needs. Since cancer and pre-cancer diagnoses can feel overwhelming, my goal is to spend time answering questions and making sure patients have all the information they need to make decisions. Our department is committed to offering high-level surgical and medical care using advanced techniques and evidence-based practices.
How I thrive
I love the outdoors, wildlife and nature. I enjoy spending time with my husband exploring Colorado and traveling internationally.
