Where I practice
I am originally from Nebraska and received my undergraduate degree in social work from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1994 and my master’s Degree in social work from DU here in Denver in 1997. I have been a social worker for 24 years and have been licensed since 1999. I have been back in Colorado since 2002. I live with my husband along with our cats.
About my practice
Populations: Adult, Family, Group, Seniors, and Teens. Specialties: ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Grief and Loss, Mood Disorders, OCD, Parenting, Personality Disorders, Chronic/Acute Health issues, Substance Abuse, Trauma, and Domestic Violence. Interventions: CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, and TFCBT. I see my work with patients as a collaboration of my ideas and the patients wants and needs. I strive to be open and direct with patients and assist them with being able to advocate for themselves, not only with their mental health, but in all areas of their lives. I have a passion for working with the chronically/acutely ill populations, patients who are struggling with grief, and loss and victims of abuse. I am open, honest with my thoughts and recommendations and do not shy away from challenging situations.
How I thrive
I thrive in my own life by being an avid walker. I am active with the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg and have a passion for rescuing cats. Additionally, I love spending time with my husband and friends relaxing on our back porch during the summer and watching football in the fall.
