Where I practice
I am a Colorado native and have found it hard to leave. I attended the University of Colorado for my undergraduate degree and medical training. I then did my family medicine residency at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. I love being a family medicine physician because it gives me the opportunity to connect with people all day long (as well as over lifetimes) and it constantly challenges me with something new with every patient. My husband is also from Colorado and we have a young son who is now a second-generation native. We love being near our family and enjoying the outdoors.
About my practice
Being a family physician is a privilege. I really enjoy building relationships with my patients and getting to take care of people of all ages with a wide variety of conditions. I work to be the best possible partner for my patients in whatever they need at their stage of life—whether it is a listening ear, change in medication, referral to one of my Kaiser Permanente team members, or a hug. My goals are to listen with an open mind, explain my thought processes, educate while also learning from my patients, and formulate a plan that balances evidence-based medicine with their individual needs. I have a specific interest in nutrition and enjoy helping patients make improvements in their lifestyle while striving to be a good example of healthy living myself. I am also interested in community health, women’s health, office-based procedures, and working with developmentally disabled patients.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time with my family. I enjoy being outside, whether hiking the Colorado mountains or just walking around our neighborhood, playing soccer, cooking and eating a plant-based diet, gardening, reading fiction books, and watching crime shows.
