Where I practice
I grew up in Iowa and, later, in central New York. I obtained my education in Boston and New York City. I did my residency here in Denver. My wife and I had been living in Utah, enjoying the close proximity to great powder skiing, for 10 years when we decided to move back to Colorado and join Kaiser Permanente. We have a son and a dog who are loving it here. We are both doctors, and we have been extremely impressed by the quality of care that Kaiser Permanente provided to several of our extended family members. We wanted to be part of a system that really thinks about how to best care for our patients!
About my practice
Emergency medicine is a very interesting and fulfilling field. In my practice, I meet patients at crucially important moments in their lives. I feel that truly listening to their concerns and trying to get to the bottom of their problems while they are in the emergency department can have an enormous impact on their quality of life. Our nursing staff and other team members are fantastic. I am proud of how we work as a team to provide kind and thorough care to our patients. I will listen to you and your family for as long as my schedule possibly allows. I will order the necessary tests, and only the necessary tests, to get you an accurate diagnosis. I will always strive to provide you the best, evidence-based treatment.
How I thrive
It is easy for me to thrive here in Colorado. I am an avid cyclist and runner. I enjoy exercising in our beautiful state with 300+ days of sunshine. In the winter, my wife and son and I can often be found on the ski slopes. I enjoy playing the piano, though I took it up as an adult and I am not particularly good at it. I read a great deal of books, both fiction and nonfiction. My friends and family think I am a pretty good cook, and I enjoy making big meals for them. I particularly like to cook French cuisine, tossing in a few elements from Asian or Indian cooking as well.
