Where I practice
Although I'm originally from California, I knew Denver would be my forever home after I met my husband in college. We felt that Denver was an amazing place to call home, with access to the mountains, our favorite outdoor activities, a diverse population, and a back-to-basics feel. We also love having the opportunity to raise our three children here, in close contact with all that Denver has to offer. Being able to find a career with Kaiser Permanente doing pediatric anesthesia, the career I fell in love with in medical school, made my picture of life in Denver complete! I can't say enough about the organization, my coworkers, and how fulfilling it is to have a profession that allows me to feel so intimately involved in caring for children.
About my practice
As a medical student, I had the opportunity to take part in a pediatric anesthesia rotation. I knew that I loved anesthesia, but being able to care for children and their families was icing on the cake. As a parent myself, I understand how terrifying it can be to trust the care of your child to a stranger. I work to put your fears at ease and really establish a relationship with you. Taking care of children means addressing not only their specific medical concerns, but also the emotional concerns of the child and their parents, and I love that aspect of my job: treating the whole. My practice is open to all ages, but I have special training in pediatrics, having completed a fellowship at Children's Hospital.
How I thrive
I thrive by staying active with my young family in all that Colorado has to offer. My career exercises my mind and professional aspirations, while my environment and the place I have chosen to live exercise my body and spirit. I enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible with my children and husband, breathing the fresh air and seeing the mountain vistas.
