Where I practice
I am a proud Georgia native, and was raised in Alpharetta, a suburb just north of Atlanta. I received my bachelor of science in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in 1998 and quickly pursued a career in medicine as an operating room nurse. I graduated from the University of Colorado in 2004 with a master of science degree and a family nurse practitioner certification. After finishing school, I had the pleasure of working in the General Surgery Department at Kaiser Permanente for 10 years, and in 2014 made the transition to the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department.
About my practice
Ever since I can remember, I've been drawn to medicine as well as intrigued with the human anatomy. I enjoy performing minor surgeries, pediatrics, women’s health, and working in the acute care setting of the hospital. An accomplishment that I'm especially proud of involves my expertise in three-dimensional (3D) tattooing for nipple and areola reconstruction. I have been able to extend this service to patients undergoing breast reconstruction. I am truly experiencing the "art of medicine" as well as the joy in making my patients happy. It is very rewarding to be able to perform the final stage of what often is a year-long journey for many women. I am also fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a team of very dedicated nurses and physicians.
How I thrive
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active by exercising, skiing, hiking, and playing soccer. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with family, especially watching my daughter Harper excel at gymnastics and cheering on my son Gaines, at his hockey games!
