Where I practice
I grew up on the East Coast, but after skiing the Rockies I knew Colorado was the place I wanted to live. I sought a job that allowed for work-life balance and joined the Kaiser Permanente Orthopedics team in the early 1990s, becoming the ninth surgeon in the department. Since that time, we have increased our ranks to more than 40 providers. We now provide expertise in essentially all orthopedic subspecialties. I consider our department to be one of the premier orthopedic groups in Colorado and am proud to be a part of it.
About my practice
Kaiser Permanente allows me to practice medicine in the way I think is best for the patient. I practice what I consider science-based, time-proven, safe orthopedics. My goal is to resolve my patient’s issues in the most timely and cost-effective way possible. I look forward to meeting each patient, and I listen to understand your questions and concerns. I specialize in general hand surgery, which extends from the fingertips to mid-upper arm. My practice has focused over the years on reconstructive procedures for various types of arthritis, including joint replacements. I keep up to date with the orthopedic literature and attend multiple courses each year to stay abreast of new procedures.
How I thrive
Physical fitness is a priority for me, so my days off generally involve mountain biking, snowboarding or hiking with my dogs. I feel that physical fitness adds to mental fitness and is important to overall health. I try to take that philosophy to work and feel that improving a patient’s function leads to a better quality of life.
