Where I practice
I was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Both of my parents were veterinarians, so medicine and science have always interested me. I envied the relationships they formed with clients over their 30-year careers, which is what led me to family medicine. What I enjoy most is continuity of care and the ability to get to know my patients. Following medical school, I served 3 years with the Marine Corps as a Navy Medical Officer, before finishing my residency in family medicine. After living my entire life on the East Coast, my wife (also a family physician), son and I decided to trade the rivers and beaches for the mountains of Colorado.
About my practice
To use a sports analogy, I am your coach and you are the quarterback – you are in charge of your health. My goal is to educate and use evidence-based medicine to guide you through the medical decision-making process. I strive to ensure that we work together to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your health goals. My interests include preventive medicine, musculoskeletal medicine/injuries, urgent care, treatment of chronic disease, and men’s health. The adage, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” rings true to my approach to patient care.
How I thrive
Work-life balance is important for all of us to maintain a sense of well-being. Where is a more perfect place to appreciate life than Colorado? I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, hiking, skiing, woodworking, trying new restaurants, watching college football and traveling.
